Major Accident in Masis: 6 Injured, 2 of Whom Are Children

A major traffic accident occurred in Masis, Ararat Province, resulting in injuries, including two children. The information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.

According to the report, the Ararat Regional Crisis Management Center received an emergency call about the accident yesterday, January 18, at 23:39. A team from the Fire and Rescue Department of the Emergency Situations Ministry was dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that vehicles involved in the collision were a "VAZ-2106" (driver: V. H.) and a "Mitsubishi Colt" (driver: T. S., born in 1994) at the beginning of Araratyan Street. Before rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver of the Mitsubishi Colt and passengers J. I. (born in 1995), A. I. (born in 2017), L. H. (born in 1994), and A. S. (born in 2017) were extracted from the vehicle by local residents and hospitalized at Masis Medical Center. Subsequently, T. S., L. H., and J. I. were transferred to Erebuni Medical Center in Yerevan, where doctors assessed T. S.'s condition as stable, while L. H. and J. I.'s conditions were classified as severe. The two 4-year-old children were moved to Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center, where their conditions were also deemed stable.

Rescuers disconnected the power supply to the vehicles, closed the gas valve of the VAZ-2106, and secured the area. They extracted V. H. from the VAZ-2106 and brought him to an ambulance, where he was hospitalized at Erebuni Medical Center with his condition assessed as critical.
