We Demonstrated That CSTO is a Serious Organization: Matviyenko
In the case of an attempt to organize a color revolution in one of the CSTO member countries, the organization will protect that country, stated the Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.
"We demonstrated that this (CSTO) is a serious organization, and they must take into account that in the case of attempts at color revolutions, any other state of the CSTO will always be under protection. This is very important," she said in response to a question about the assessment of the CSTO's actions by the US and NATO in Kazakhstan.
Matviyenko reminded that Russia has the longest border with Kazakhstan. "If we hadn't managed to overcome that situation in time, it would have posed a threat not only to Kazakhstan's sovereignty but also to the security of neighboring countries," the spokesperson stated.
According to her, the CSTO demonstrated its effectiveness, necessity, and the timeliness of the establishment of the organization in Kazakhstan.
