Vardenis Paralyzed: Awaiting Court Decision
The former head of Vardenis, Aram Melkonyan, has yet to return the keys and seal of the community center to the newly elected mayor, Aharon Khachatryan. As a result, since the first session of the council on December 5, the new mayor has been unable to fulfill his official duties, leaving the council's activities paralyzed.
In a conversation with Factinfo, Geghamasar community leader Hakob Avetyan reported that the situation remains unchanged, and Vardenis continues to be in a paralyzed state as they wait for the court's decision. 'We are waiting for the court's decision to determine our next steps. We have not yet taken any action; perhaps the court will make a reasonable ruling, and at that point, the police will come and hand over the keys and seal to us,' he stated, adding that Melkonyan has not provided any explanation for his actions.
It is important to recall that Aram Melkonyan has not returned the keys and seal of the Vardenis mayor's office to the newly elected mayor, causing the council to be unable to proceed with its normal operations, while Aharon Khachatryan, the newly elected mayor, is unable to fulfill his responsibilities. The ruling party has appealed to the court to annul the council's initial session scheduled for December 30, during which the opposition candidate Aharon Khachatryan was elected as mayor.
