17-Year-Old Driver Hospitalized After Car Accident in Armavir Province

On January 16, a spectacular car accident occurred in Armavir Province. Around 1:20 AM, a 17-year-old resident of Ejmiadzin, Hrach V., lost control of his Nissan vehicle with license plate 10 DO 022. The car veered off the roadway in front of the address 2/2 Spandaryan Street, crashed into an iron electric pole, then into a gas pipeline and the wall of a shop, finally coming to rest on the pedestrian sidewalk.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan who reported from the scene, the driver sustained injuries and was taken to the Vagharschapat Medical Center. Medical personnel from the center arrived promptly, providing assistance to the driver before transporting him to the hospital.

Shamshyan also reported that the driver did not possess a valid driver's license. Representatives from the Electric Networks of Armenia and Gazprom Armenia promptly arrived on the scene to remove traces of the accident and to restore the damaged electric pole and gas pipeline.
