Infiniti Leaves Traffic Zone, Knocks Down Concrete Power Pole: Accident in Yerevan

Today, on January 15, a major car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 10:00 AM, vehicles of the brands Infiniti and Renault collided on Marshal Babajanyan Street.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reporting from the scene, the Infiniti veered out of the traffic lane and crashed into a concrete power pole, knocking it down.

As a result of the accident, one person was transported to the hospital.

Emergency services promptly arrived with one fire truck from the Avan Fire and Rescue Brigade of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia. The rescuers disconnected the vehicles from power and closed the gas cylinder.

Additionally, officers from the second battalion of the Yerevan patrol division arrived at the scene under the leadership of battalion commander Levon Badalyan and deputy commander Davit Nikoghosyan. The area was cordoned off by patrol officers Davit Davtyan and Arsen Torosyan to prevent curious drivers from stopping their vehicles and causing traffic jams.

Materials are being prepared by D. Hrachyan regarding the incident. The patrol service is identifying the drivers and the injured individual.

The photojournalist reports that as a result of the power pole being knocked down, the electrical wires were torn and ended up in the middle of the road. The patrol service has also informed the company “Electric Networks of Armenia” about this issue, and they are now waiting for the crew to arrive from the specified company.
