Car Accident in Ararat Region: Weapons and Ammunition Found in Niva
Today, on January 15, an emergency incident occurred in the Ararat region. Around 09:10, a VAZ 2121 model vehicle with license plate 58 PP 999 veered off the road on Tigran Mets Street in the village of Urcadzor, near the village administration and school, and collided with a Toyota Corolla with license plate 0400 II 04.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan at the scene, fortunately, there are no reported injuries. Responding promptly, the 26th fire and rescue squad of the Ararat regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived with one combat unit. The firefighters disconnected the power from the vehicles and cordoned off the area.
The head of the Ararat regional police, Saribek Rustamyan, and the head of the Ararat police department, Arthur Hakobyan, also arrived quickly at the scene. Currently, investigators from the Ararat regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia are working at the site under the guidance of the head of the regional investigative department, Vahe Mirzoyan, the head of the Vedi investigative division, Arthur Avetyan, and the deputy head of the Vedi investigative division, Levon Antanasyan.
The photojournalist reports that the Toyota Corolla is registered under the Ararat regional police and is assigned to the operational line deputy of the Ararat police department, Hayk Stepanyan. Meanwhile, the Niva was driven by the son of the Urcadzor village mayor, Rafik Andreasyan, named David Andreasyan, who has been taken to the Ararat police department.
Weapons and ammunition were found in the Niva. Whether the incident is a car accident or another crime will be clarified during the preliminary investigation conducted by the Ararat regional investigative department. Both vehicles were transferred to the special area under police custody.
