The Djokovic Scandal Continues: Australia Imposes Ban
Australia has canceled Novak Djokovic's visa for the second time due to his unvaccinated status. He faces deportation and a three-year visa ban.
Djokovic's lawyers have described the decision as "blatantly irrational" and are set to appeal on Sunday.
The men's tennis world number one is still scheduled to compete in the Australian Open, set to take place in Melbourne on Monday.
"Today, I exercised my powers to cancel Mr. Novak Djokovic's visa on health and welfare grounds, based on the fact that it is in the public interest," said Immigration Minister Alex Hawke in a statement.
