Novak Djokovic Included in Australian Open Draw
The draw for the men’s singles at the Australian Open has taken place in Melbourne. World number one, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has been included in the tournament draw despite a scandal involving Australian authorities. As the top seed, Djokovic will compete against his countryman Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round.
It is worth noting that after arriving in Australia, the unvaccinated Serbian tennis player was detained and placed in a hotel designated for immigrants. On January 10, a Melbourne court restored Djokovic's Australian visa, which had been previously canceled. However, Australian authorities later announced they were considering cancelling the visa again and deporting Djokovic from the country.
