Rudik Last Spoke with His Father: No Words to Express What Was Said, Says Mayor

As reported, on January 11, due to provocations by Azerbaijani units on the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, soldiers from the Armenian Ministry of Defense N unit were killed, including private Artur Artyom Mkhitaryan (born 2002), junior sergeant Rudik Rafik Gharebeyan (born 2002), and private Vahan Vachaghani Babayan (born 2003).

LURORE.com connected with the mayor of Alaverdi, Sasun Khechumyan. He expressed with sorrow that the late Rudik was one of the city's most beloved, polite, and virtuous kids. “He was a very bright, progressive patriot and a God-fearing young man, in short—a role model,” said the community leader.

He informed the media that Rudik last spoke to his father around 17:00, but he did not want to disclose what was said. “I have nothing to say about what was said,” he remarked.

The mayor himself informed the family of the tragic news yesterday. “Yesterday I went to their home with the commissioner and conveyed the unfortunate news,” he reported.

It should be noted that Rudik's Facebook page features numerous posts about his service; however, perhaps the most striking was a post of his conscription notice with the caption: “I’m going so that I can come back… with a smile, always with a smile.”
