70-Year-Old Driver Strikes Mother and Daughter
Today, on January 12, a traffic accident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. Around 10:40 AM, a 70-year-old resident of Yerevan, Sedrak M., struck two residents of the Aragatsotn region, 28-year-old Arevik S. and 59-year-old Melsida U., with his Nissan vehicle in front of 59 Narekatsi Street in the town of Ashtarak.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, the driver did not flee the scene. He called an ambulance, and the doctors from Ashtarak Hospital arrived promptly to transfer the injured to the “Ashtarak” medical center. The traffic police from the 2nd Troop of the 2nd Battalion swiftly arrived at the scene led by the troop commander Vache Malakyan and squad commander Hrant Galstyan.
The senior investigator from the same battalion, Hayk Vardanyan, led the investigative work at the scene, where materials are being prepared in connection with the incident. The driver underwent a sobriety test and was found to be sober. According to G. Shamsyan, the injured individuals are mother and daughter.
