Vaccination Dynamics in the Region: Armenia's Position Revealed

Yerevan State Medical University Rector Armen Muradyan stated on his Facebook page: “I present to you the vaccination dynamics in Armenia and neighboring countries as of January 9. Here are the statistics:

• Russia - 36.5%
• Turkey - 60.1%
• Azerbaijan - 45.3%
• Iran - 51.1%
• Georgia - 26.3%
• Armenia - 24.9%

Since the start of vaccinations against COVID-19 on April 13, by January 9, 2022, a total of 1,694,518 vaccinations have been conducted in Armenia (a 2% increase from the January 3, 2022, figures), including:

• First dose: 952,813 (25% decrease from January 3, 2022)
• Second dose: 740,489 (14% increase from January 3, 2022), representing 24.9% of the total population.

From January 3 to January 9, approximately 34,262 vaccinations were carried out, with an average daily rate of about 4,895. During this period, 23% of those vaccinated received the first dose, while 75% received the second dose.

A total of 69% of vaccinations have occurred in the last three months, including 63% of the first doses and 77% of the second doses.

COVID-19 statistics in Armenia as of January 10, 2021, at 11:00 are as follows:

• Total confirmed cases: 345,981
• Recovered: 332,985
• Currently hospitalized: 3,480 (+24 in one day)
• Deaths: 8,004 (3 in one day)
• Deaths from other causes: 1,512 (0 in one day)
• Tests conducted in one day: 3,433, with 125 positive results (3.6%)
• Effective Reproduction Rate: approximately 0.58 (0.00)

Since the start of the vaccination process on April 13, 2021, a total of 142,137 (around 41% of confirmed cases) COVID-19 cases and 4,247 deaths (about 53% of deaths) have been recorded. The highest number of cases was recorded on October 20, 2021, with 2,603 cases, while the highest number of deaths occurred on November 12, 2021, with 70 deaths.
