Renovation of the Norq Infectious Diseases Center's 'B' Building Begins, Some Services Temporarily Suspended

According to the government program for the activities from 2021 to 2026, the renovation of the branches of the National Center for Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia is planned. As a result of this important program, we will finally have a center that meets modern standards. This information has been reported by the Ministry of Health of Armenia.

"The reconstruction works of the 'B' building will start on February 1, and due to this, some of the medical services provided at the center will be temporarily suspended. The medical center is considering some changes to its staffing schedule to ensure that medical personnel are provided with opportunities at other healthcare institutions," the statement reads.

Earlier, it was reported that the employees of the Norq branch of the National Center for Infectious Diseases are holding a protest in front of the center. The issue is that on December 30, 80 employees of this hospital were informed that they would be laid off starting January 15. The center's staff indicates that they were called to a meeting on December 30 and told to submit their resignations. This concerns nurses and other medical staff.
