Man Breaks Postal Door Glass, Steals Money from Cash Register; Suspect Apprehended by Police
Today, January 10, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 01:50, the operational management center of the Police of Armenia received a call reporting that a thief had entered the "006" postal office located at 7 Garegin Nzhdeh Street.
According to reports from the scene by shamshyan.com, police cordoned off the entire building due to multiple entrances, as the suspect could have attempted to flee. Upon noticing the police, the suspect was instructed to stop, but entering one of the building's entrances, he made a run for it.
Police pursued him for about 500 meters before successfully apprehending him. He sustained injuries to his hands, and before he was taken to the Shengavit Police Department, officers administered first aid, after which a team of on-call doctors provided further assistance.
It was revealed that 38-year-old Khoren M., a resident of Yerevan, had broken the glass of the entrance door of Haypost, entered, and stolen money from the cash register.
Investigators from the Shengavit Police Department conducted an examination of the crime scene under the leadership of senior investigator Mirzoyan. The suspect Khoren M. has been arrested based on the investigator's decision. According to sources, the criminal case will be transferred to the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for the Shengavit area. Security cameras at the post office recorded the theft as it unfolded.
