Fatal Accident on Yerevan-Sevan Highway

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code in the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department. The case pertains to the fatal road accident that occurred on January 9, 2022, at the 43rd km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway.

According to preliminary data, the driver of a "Vaz 21074" vehicle, while heading towards Sevan, collided with a parked "Hyundai Genesis" vehicle on the right side of the road. As a result of the collision, the driver of the "Vaz 21074" sustained injuries and was transported to a medical center, while his female passenger tragically died at the scene. A forensic examination of the body has been ordered. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
