It is noteworthy that protests against rising gas prices continue in various cities of Kazakhstan. These demonstrations have turned into clashes between police and protesters, although some demonstrators have switched sides to support the protesters.
Today, protesters also seized the residence of Kazakhstan's president located in Almaty. President Tokayev and the government have fully resigned. Tokayev has been appointed as the Secretary of the National Security Council, replacing former president Nursultan Nazarbayev.
