Major Fire in Yerevan: Blaze Breaks Out in Renault Kangoo Parked Near the Morgue
On January 4th, a fire broke out in a vehicle in Yerevan. Around 23:05, the emergency rescue service's 911 crisis center received a report that a vehicle was on fire on Heratsi Street, near the morgue.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, before the firefighters from the Yerevan Fire and Rescue Unit No. 8 arrived, police officers from the 3rd platoon of the 1st company of the Yerevan Patrol Service, led by platoon commander Gevorg Torosyan, used a fire extinguisher from their service vehicles to prevent the spread of the fire. The firefighters who arrived later extinguished the blaze.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the driver, Lusine A., had parked the Renault Kangoo in a permitted area. A patrol group from the central department of the police also arrived at the scene.
