Earthquake 9 km Southeast of Kapan: Felt in Kajaran and Meghri
On January 9, at 23:19 local time (19:19 GMT), an earthquake was recorded in the Armenia-Azerbaijan border zone, 9 km southeast of Kapan, at coordinates 39.14° north latitude and 46.47° east longitude. The earthquake had a depth of 10 km and a magnitude of 2.6, according to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.
The intensity of the subterranean tremor in the epicentral zone was reported to be between 3-4 on the Richter scale.
