Driver Hits Pedestrian, Victim Transferred to Hospital
According to Shamshyan.com, an accident occurred in Yerevan yesterday, January 3. Around 23:10, a 24-year-old resident of Yerevan, S. Anrikyan, struck a pedestrian, N. Tashchyan, a 23-year-old resident of Yerevan, with his Mazda CX-9.
Photographer Gagik Shamshyan reports that the driver did not flee the scene but instead called for an ambulance by dialing 1-03, and subsequently assisted in transferring the injured pedestrian to the Number 1 University Hospital with the help of citizens and doctors who arrived promptly.
Rapidly, patrol officers from the 3rd Battalion of the Yerevan Patrol Police, led by Battalion Commander Gor Arakelyan, arrived at the scene. The area was cordoned off by Senior Patrol Officer Tigran Hayrapetyan and Junior Patrol Officer Hovhannes Arakelyan to prevent traffic congestion.
Information regarding the incident was relayed from the Yerevan Patrol Division to the Investigation and Administrative Procedures Department for Road Traffic Accidents, where an on-duty team led by Department Head Grigor Avetisyan and Senior Investigator Hrayr Stepanyan arrived at the scene. Materials are being prepared on the incident by H. Stepanyan.
A rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' firefighting and rescue squad in Yerevan also arrived promptly.
