Attempt to Blow Up a Mercedes Owned by Sotk Gold Mine Employee
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, an emergency incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region yesterday, January 3. Inspector Petrosyan from the community police division of the Vardenis police department received information about an explosion in the Banavan neighborhood of Vardenis.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the head of the Gegharkunik regional police department, Arthur Mkrtchyan, and the head of the Vardenis police department, Philipp Stepanyan, arrived at the scene.
A group from the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Gegharkunik regional investigative department, led by senior investigator Boshyan, also arrived.
The police and investigators found that around 10:00 PM, an attempt was made to blow up a Mercedes vehicle belonging to a 36-year-old resident of Vardenis, Aram A., which was parked in the yard of building number 1 on Sev Manukyan street. As a result, the rear right side of the car was partially damaged.
Materials are being prepared at the Vardenis investigative division regarding the incident.
According to G. Shamshyan, Aram A. works at the Sotk gold mine, which belongs to Geo Pro Mining LLC.
