New Details on Major Accident on Yerevan-Yeraskh Highway

On January 2, at 19:22, the Ararat Regional Crisis Management Center received a call reporting that there had been a traffic accident near the village of Araksavan on the Yeraskh-Yerevan highway, with casualties involved.

A firefighting and rescue squad from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue administration was dispatched to the scene. It was found that at the 22nd kilometer of the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway, vehicles including an 'Opel Astra' (driver: D.G., born 1982), 'Lexus NX300' (driver: A.H., born 1984), 'VAZ 2107', and 'Toyota Camry' were involved in the collision.

Before the rescuers arrived, the passengers L.M. (born 1993), V.K. (born 1995), S.A. (born 1991), and D.K. (born 1993) were hospitalized at 'Erebuni' Medical Center, where doctors assessed L.M. and V.K.'s health condition as moderate, while S.A. and D.K. received appropriate treatment and were discharged.

Rescuers extricated the driver of the 'Opel Astra' and assisted him to the ambulance, where he was also taken to the 'Erebuni' Medical Center, with doctors rating his condition as moderate. The rescuers disconnected the vehicles' batteries and closed the gas tank valves.
