According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, the driver did not flee; with the help of citizens, the injured pedestrian was transported to the "Metsamor" medical center.
Accompanied by the commander of the first platoon Marlén Sargsyan and the second platoon commander Karapet Harutyunyan, the driver, who voluntarily presented himself at the Metsamor police station in a VAZ 2121 vehicle, was taken to the Vagharshapat police department, as the incident occurred in the administrative area served by Vagharshapat police.
While Senior Investigator Gevorg Yeghiazaryan from the second platoon's traffic police was attempting to carry out an investigation at the scene, a call was received from the hospital indicating that the injured pedestrian had died.
Responsible duty officer Tigran Barseghyan of the Traffic Police's 1-77 operational management center notified the investigation department of the Armenian Investigative Committee in the Armavir region, where an investigative group arrived, led by the department head Davit Baroyan.
At the scene, the father of the deceased pedestrian told a photojournalist, "The vehicle's tire was damaged, we stopped with my son and changed it. I was driving the car, but after changing the tire, he wanted to get in the car so we could move; I heard a loud crash. And I saw my son lying on the ground. We waited for about 15 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. With the help of citizens, we transported my son to the hospital."
