Armenian Defense Ministry Deputy Colonel Hits Pedestrian with Mitsubishi, Victim Dies at Scene

On December 30, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the Tavush region. Around 5:45 PM, a Mitsubishi vehicle struck a pedestrian, 56-year-old Kh. Mkrtchyan, on Artsakh Street in Ijevan.

According to reports from the scene by shamshyan.com, the driver did not flee the scene and called the Ijevan Medical Center, where the emergency medical team confirmed the pedestrian's death. Following this, the driver contacted the police department in Ijevan.

It was revealed on site that the driver is an employee of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, prompting the arrival of personnel from the Military Police in Ijevan. Investigators from the Military Investigative Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee are currently examining the scene.

According to G. Shamshyan, the driver is a deputy colonel serving in the N military unit of the Ministry of Defense. Police and investigative officials are working to ascertain the driver's complete details.
