Robert Kocharian Discusses the Return of Hadrut and Shushi
It is a completed bad thing. Today, during a meeting with journalists, the second president of Armenia and leader of the 'Armenia' alliance, Robert Kocharian, commented on the trilateral statement from November 9.
“All the negative points of that document have already been realized, and no reasonable person will come and say, 'let's cancel this document',” he stated, adding that the only part still unfinished is the most crucial one for Armenia—the return of prisoners.
When asked if he would take steps to return Hadrut and Shushi if he came to power, Kocharian replied, “Yes, we should strive at least to restore the territorial integrity of the Republic of Artsakh in some way. I do not think it is possible, but if steps are taken in that direction, I do not believe that at least some of them will not be realized,” he said.
Regarding the possibility of coming to power, Kocharian noted that the current situation shows an unambiguously declining rating for the government, and in his opinion, this is not a recoverable rating, while the rating of their political force has seen some decline but is, in his characterization, recoverable.
“After the elections, there was a general decline; then everyone’s decline stopped, while the government’s rating continues to decline and is in free fall,” he stated.
Robert Kocharian did not hide that the goal of the 'Armenia' alliance is a change of power, but also declared, “If anyone knows someone who can do this job better than us, I am ready to support them with all my capabilities.”
