Proposal to Hold Hearing Inviting Pashinyan and Relatives of Captives: Ardzvik Minasyan
The "Hayastan" faction of the National Assembly proposes to hold a hearing today after the regular session of the National Assembly, following the government Q&A. They suggest the participation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, as well as the relatives of captives and missing persons.
This proposal was voiced in the National Assembly session by member of the "Hayastan" faction Ardzvik Minasyan. "This is important as it provides a real opportunity to answer the many questions raised by our compatriots," Minasyan said.
No representatives from the ruling party responded to the opposition lawmaker’s statement.
It is worth noting that at the same time, relatives of captives and missing persons are currently gathered at the entrance of the National Assembly, demanding answers regarding the statement made by Alen Simonyan yesterday.
Recall that on December 7, a secretly recorded video featuring National Assembly President Alen Simonyan surfaced online, in which he stated that the parents of captives also know that their sons have deserted. Later, Alen Simonyan commented that the video is edited and his words are presented out of context. Nevertheless, he reaffirmed that all servicemen who have laid down their arms and surrendered to captivity will be subjected to criminal prosecution.
