Lilit Makunts Has Not Signed Any Contracts with Organizations Since Her Appointment as Ambassador
According to information from the "Zhoghovurd" daily, since Lilit Makunts was appointed as the ambassador to the USA, the Armenian embassy has not signed any contracts with any lobbying organizations in the United States. It was reported that the contract period between our embassy in the States and one of the American lobbying organizations expired in March of this year, after which no new contract has been signed.
According to the information we received, the former parliamentarian who was appointed as ambassador in August has only started having meetings with various American entities, departments, and individuals a month after her appointment, specifically meeting with members of the Congressional committee dealing with Armenian issues. However, it has always been a priority for any ambassador accredited in the US not only to work with Congressional members dealing with Armenian issues but also to meet with those Congressional members and ambassadors of other states accredited in Washington who may even have neutral or slightly negative attitudes towards Azerbaijan and Turkey.
However, since taking office, Makunts has not yet met with any other country's ambassador (at least we have not encountered such information). During this period, she has also not had meetings with influential organizations and churches, such as the Evangelical and Catholic churches,” the article reports.
