VIDEO: The Grounds and Logic of Appointments are So Primitive, Says MP on Rubinyan's Envoy Role
Such appointments are not coincidences; authorities are guided not by the professionalism of the individual, but by the fact that they are a team member. This was stated by Anna Grigoryan, an MP from the 'Hayastan' faction, during a press conference addressing the appointment of Ruben Rubinyan as the representative of the Armenian side in Armenian-Turkish negotiations.
“A person is being appointed as the ambassador of Armenia to the U.S. who knows English, and within this logic, a person who presumably knows Turkish is appointed as an envoy for negotiations with Turkey. The grounds and logic of these appointments are so primitive that they cannot even be subjects of discussion,” said the MP.
According to Anna Grigoryan, although the authorities assure that there can be no talk of any preconditions from Turkey, the Turkish side has consistently stated its preconditions. “Here we have a very serious problem; the further resolution of the Artsakh conflict and the continuity of peaceful negotiations are in question, as well as the 'Zangezur' corridor continuously proclaimed by Turkey and Azerbaijan. One must be naive to think that Turkey has entered negotiations without any preconditions,” stated Anna Grigoryan.
