VIDEO: Armenian Armed Forces Withdrawn in Syunik Based on Written Document in 2020, Manukyan

Gegham Manukyan, a member of the «Hayastan» faction, received a response months ago from the General Staff regarding his written inquiry about the document under which the events in Syunik occurred last year.

Manukyan stated that he cannot provide many details from the response due to a confidentiality obligation but declared that the response from the General Staff confirms that in December 2020, the RA Armed Forces withdrew approximately 20 km from the Goris-Kapan highway.

«I recently received a rather unexpected response from the Chief of Staff. A letter addressed to me was registered in the confidential section of the National Assembly under the signature of the Chief of Staff, and because it is in the confidential section, I do not have the right to publish the full response. But one thing is clear: the letter signed by the Chief of the RA Armed Forces General Artak Davtyan confirms that in December 2020, the subdivisions of the RA Armed Forces, along with volunteer groups, withdrew approximately 20 km, and the 21 km section of the Goris-Kapan road fell under Azerbaijani control based on a written document,» Manukyan noted.
