Video: Fatal Accidents in Armavir and Yerevan - Investigation Underway

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated a criminal case in the Armavir regional investigative department under part 2 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code. This is in connection with a fatal traffic accident that occurred on the 14th kilometer of the Yerevan-Ejmiatsin highway. The Committee reports that appropriate measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to preliminary data, on December 15, 2021, around 12:00 PM, a 47-year-old resident of Armavir was driving a "VAZ 2105" vehicle when they veered off the roadway and collided with two parked "Nissan" vehicles. As a result, the driver died at the scene, while their passenger was transported to a medical center with injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.

Furthermore, the Yerevan investigative department of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under part 2 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code regarding a pedestrian accident that resulted in death at the intersection of Hrayr Kochar and Gulbenkian Streets in Yerevan. According to preliminary information, on December 16, 2021, around 7:30 AM, a man driving a "Mercedes" vehicle struck a woman, inadvertently causing her death.

Inspections of the accident scene and the aforementioned vehicle have been carried out, and a forensic examination of the body has been ordered. The investigation is ongoing.
