VIDEO: A Whole Arsenal Found in the Home and Vehicles of a 19-Year-Old
The police of the Armavir division have conducted extensive operational-investigative measures and obtained credible information indicating that a 19-year-old resident of Aigeshat village is keeping firearms in his vehicle.
On December 10, he was located and taken into custody along with his vehicle. During the search, a factory-numbered Kalashnikov assault rifle was found in the trunk of the car.
This was reported by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, stating that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The young man has been arrested.
“As part of the initiated criminal case, searches were also conducted in another car operated by the young man and his residence. During the search of the 'Grant Cherokee' vehicle, law enforcement discovered a factory-numbered Kalashnikov assault rifle, a grenade with a detonator, detonators, and magazine holders for the assault rifle, one of which was loaded with 17 bullets, as well as over 2,000 bullets of various calibers and firearms,” the statement continued.
“Additionally, during the search of the residence, another factory-numbered Kalashnikov assault rifle was found, along with a revolver, magazine holders for the assault rifle, one loaded with 26 bullets and another with 30 bullets. The operational-investigative measures continued.”
The Armavir police obtained information that the firearms and ammunition found in the vehicles and the residence had been provided to the 19-year-old by a 30-year-old man from Alashkert village in the Armavir region. He was located and arrested on December 11. During the search of his residence, a factory-numbered firearm was found illegally stored.
The criminal case initiated by the Armavir division of the police has been sent to the regional investigative department of Armavir. A forensic examination has been appointed. The circumstances are under investigation,” the police statement concluded.
