Russia Welcomes Direct Communication Between Yerevan and Baku, Says Zakharova
Moscow welcomes the willingness of Ankara and Yerevan to normalize relations and is ready to support this process, citing the benefits for the stabilization of the situation in the region. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing on Wednesday.
"The normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations will contribute to the overall stabilization of the situation in the region and will foster a healthy atmosphere of trust and friendship between countries and peoples. In this regard, we welcome the recent readiness demonstrated by Ankara and Yerevan to initiate bilateral dialogue to discuss resolution issues. The appointment of special representatives by the parties for these purposes is a logical and reasonable step to develop this aspiration. We are ready to support this process in every way possible," she said.
