VIDEO: You Are Asking a Very Bad Question - Andranik Kocharyan on Lack of Bullets for Prisoners

The issue of captives remains our number one priority as long as there are captive Armenians in Azerbaijan. Any discussion must prioritize this issue. This was stated by Andranik Kocharyan, the chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, during a conversation with reporters regarding whether the issue of returning Armenian captives from Azerbaijan would be raised at the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Brussels.

Kocharyan urged to remove the issue of captives from the internal agenda to facilitate a swift resolution. “People are dealing with the issue of captives; if they weren’t, there would be no return of captives,” he said.

In response to a remark that the return of Armenian captives always happens through Russian mediation, Andranik Kocharyan replied, “Seriously, is only Russia involved? Is Armenia not involved?”

He avoided answering a journalist's question regarding claims made by the lawyer of detained captives stating that there were not enough bullets for the captives and that a retreat was not organized. “You are asking a very bad question; not only will I not answer that question, but it also poses great danger regarding our soldiers serving at the border today. You speak of whether there are bullets or not, quoting a lawyer’s viewpoint,” he said.
