VIDEO: Heavy Snowfall in Moscow Disrupts Public Transport
On December 14, a snow layer of 30 cm has formed in Moscow, with nearly double the amount of snow falling within a single day. As a result of the snowfall, over 30 flights have been delayed or canceled at Moscow’s Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo airports, as reported by RIA Novosti.
At Vnukovo airport, 5 flights have been delayed, 9 at Domodedovo, and 5 at Sheremetyevo, with 16 flights canceled. According to the Phobos weather center, Moscow has already received 20 percent of its monthly precipitation norm this morning. Such a snowfall amount has not been recorded in Moscow for the past 28 years.
As of 9:00 AM, traffic congestion in Moscow has been rated at 7 on a 10-point scale, significantly affecting public transport operations.
