Armenia Begins Process Amid Turkey's Conditioning on Corridor Issue, MP Says

The Turkish Foreign Minister has announced that Ankara and Yerevan have agreed to appoint special envoys for the normalization of relations. This was reported on Facebook by Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the 'I Have Honor' faction, who added, 'It turns out that amidst Turkey's conditioning of the corridor issue, Armenia has initiated a process.'

No official clarifications have yet been provided by the Armenian side regarding this issue; however, considering the fact that details about Armenian-Turkish relations are consistently coming from the Turkish side, the theme of appointing envoys and behind-the-scenes agreements seems quite plausible.

It should be reminded that months ago, Erdogan informed that through the Prime Minister of Georgia, Pashinyan signaled positive gestures. By the way, a few weeks ago, the Armenian Foreign Minister admitted that within the framework of the positive propaganda of the authorities, Turkey presents the corridor issue as a precondition in the Armenian-Turkish process.

This latest closed, secretive process has been exposed, and its devastating consequences are still difficult to assess in full.
