‘At least write a few statements from List.am’ Naira Zohrabyan suggests what should have been included in the Foreign Ministry's text to be useful
On December 15, ahead of the Eastern Partnership summit, the bureau of the 'Euronest' Parliamentary Assembly sent a message to the summit. And what do you think, is there even one word in that message about the prohibited weapons used by Azerbaijan according to international conventions, white phosphorus, prisoners of war, and hostages? Of course not.
This was noted by former MP Naira Zohrabyan on her Facebook page: 'At least write a few statements from List.am.' In his latest press conference, Nikol Pashinyan stated, 'We believe that Azerbaijan's behavior should be subject to discussion not only in a trilateral format but also in the CSTO, the UN, the Hague Court, and the ECHR. I plan to participate in the US Summit for Democracy, which will take place online, and I will also raise this issue there. What Azerbaijan and the countries supporting it are doing is an attack on sovereignty, statehood, and security, and now it can be said, also on Armenia's democracy.'
Yesterday, the 'Summit for Democracy' initiated by US President Joe Biden took place, and Pashinyan attended that summit online as promised; however, there was not a single word regarding the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan and the countries supporting it, our sovereignty, our statehood, our security, and, as Pashinyan concluded in his press conference, yes, on Armenia's democracy.
Another platform where not a single word about the aggressor, war criminal, and threat to Armenia's sovereignty, Azerbaijan, was mentioned was during the Eurasian Economic Union summit attended by the leaders of the EAEU. Nursultan Nazarbayev, a friend of Aliyev, announced that he considers it possible to negotiate with Azerbaijan for it to become an observer country at the EAEU. After Nazarbayev, it was the turn of the Prime Minister of Armenia to speak, and what do you think? Yes, you're right, there was no mention at all that until Azerbaijan stops its aggression against Armenia, until there are clear decisions on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, and until Azerbaijan withdraws its 'project' from Armenia's sovereign territory, from the 41 kilometers confirmed by Pashinyan himself, discussing such a question today would be another shameless bonus to Azerbaijan.
Oh, let’s not forget the Foreign Ministry’s ‘literary reviews’ on the day of remembrance for the victims of genocide, where the terms 'Turkey' and 'Ottoman Empire' were erased with a rubber. By the way, the Foreign Ministry's text would have been much more useful if they had included a few statements from List.am and wished everyone a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas at the end.
Meanwhile, on December 15, ahead of the Eastern Partnership summit, the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly bureau sent a message to the summit. And what do you think, is there even one word in that message about the prohibited weapons used by Azerbaijan according to international conventions, white phosphorus, prisoners of war, and hostages? Of course not.
However, this message has once again nailed Russia to the pillar of disgrace in the context of the interests of Georgia and Moldova. This won't change anything, but let me remind you that the head of the Armenian delegation in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly has full voting rights. I don’t know who it is, but I am confident that this text wasn’t even sent to them for reading. Or if they read it and everything is okay for them, then everything is really okay,' she wrote.
