Those Claiming Border Security is 100% Ensured Either Lack Understanding of the Frontline or are Misleading the Public: Abrahamyan

Those who claim that border security is 100% ensured either have a profound misunderstanding of what the frontline entails or aim to mislead the public and portray the situation in exaggerated colors, stated Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Honorary Title" faction, during a conversation with journalists.

The MP emphasized that a primary issue is the establishment of newly formed frontlines, which necessitates creating socio-living conditions and infrastructure for rear support and supply of armaments.

"In the post-war period, it is also essential to review the service conducted on the frontline in Armenia and Artsakh, which has not yet been done. The authorities and certain circles are intentionally attempting to present the creation of necessary infrastructure and technical equipment on the frontline in very simplistic terms, for example, by replacing tents with 'budkas.' They also attempt to demonstrate that if concrete barriers are installed at positions, it means we have strong positions. In reality, the border infrastructure is multi-layered; it involves roads and ensuring safe communication to positions for secure transportation of vehicles and military personnel, as well as capabilities for defensive, counter-offensive, and offensive operations," Abrahamyan elaborated.

According to him, the authorities have not addressed these problems; otherwise, during the recent military operations, which lasted 1-2 days and did not have significant scale, the Armenian side would not have suffered six fatalities and 32 captives, along with losses of positions.

"This was another test that recorded that the issues raised during this time, the assurances given by the authorities, have no relation to reality," stated the MP.
