Alen Simonian to Be Summoned to Court, Says Artur Minasyan
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, will be summoned to court in the coming days. This was announced today during a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly by Artur Minasyan, a member of the "Armenia" parliamentary faction, while discussing the ongoing investigation into the brawl that took place in August 2021.
"We have demanded that both Alen Simonian and the head of the security service be summoned to court, and the court has accepted our request. A court hearing has also been scheduled for this matter. It is not as if we are not being persistent," said Minasyan, comparing the incident that took place four months ago to the brawl between opposition parliamentary aides and pro-government deputies on December 7.
"In addition, I have also filed a report concerning Andranik Kocharyan and Vahagn Aleksanyan. I am not backing down and believe that legal responsibility must be enforced. Sooner or later, it will catch up with these individuals, and they will have to answer for their actions, no matter how much they try to divert public attention," he added.
It is worth noting that a brawl occurred in the National Assembly on December 7. According to Syune Gevorgyan, the assistant to the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the fight took place in the office of Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan. Gevorgyan stated that the participants included CP members Hratchya Hakobyan, Vahagn Aleksanyan, and Sisak Gabrielyan.
