Peacekeepers Will Complete This Task: Muradov on Armenian Prisoners of War
During the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, those captured have been returned with the support of Russian peacekeepers, and efforts to return Armenian soldiers still in captivity are ongoing. This was stated by Rustam Muradov, the deputy commander of the Southern Military District, as reported by TASS.
“Work is ongoing; there are good signals and understanding. I believe this issue should be fully resolved. The Russian peacekeepers will complete this task,” said Muradov, emphasizing that he considers the effort to return prisoners a peacekeeper's civil duty.
“As a military man, I understand who the prisoners of war are and what feelings they experienced in captivity. I remember the first flight when we flew to Baku, and on the return, I saw the faces of those servicemen when they had already reached Yerevan - at the Erebuni airport. They couldn't believe they were home, tears in their eyes,” Muradov added.
