White House Issues Statement Following Biden-Putin Conversation: Details

The White House has released a statement following the conclusion of the video summit between the U.S. and Russian presidents, noting that the leaders discussed several agenda items concerning U.S.-Russia relations.

“President Biden raised the deep concerns of the United States and our European allies regarding the escalation of forces by Russia around Ukraine and clarified that in the event of military escalation, the U.S. and our allies will respond with strong economic and other measures. President Biden reiterated his support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and called for a return to de-escalation and diplomacy.

The presidents also discussed U.S.-Russia dialogue on strategic stability, as well as joint efforts on regional issues such as Iran,” the statement reads.
