VIDEO: Aliyev Sees Robert Kocharian in Bad Dreams, Says MP
The MP from the 'Armenia' faction, Aram Vardevanyan, addressing the negotiation process regarding Artsakh, expressed his regret that once again the authorities presented what he considers to be a manipulatively portrayed narrative from the podium of the National Assembly over the past three years.
He referenced a recent statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry: 'Let’s be clear, there is an appropriate translation in Armenian. The return or discussion of the two regions to Azerbaijan must be tied to the determination of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. To say that this means giving away seven regions for nothing is simply manipulation; it’s a matter of evading the truth. The necessary connection regarding status is not a complex thought. It means that until the status is resolved, the question of those two regions will yield nothing.'
Furthermore, he pointed out interesting aspects in that statement, mentioning that it was stated that peacekeeping forces would be deployed after the five regions, indicating that while they are now present, the seven regions are not included, and moreover, Shushi and Hadrut are also not accounted for.
Vardevanyan asserted that the podium of the National Assembly is not a platform for expressing thoughts at the level of 'Perfect TV'. 'If you are talking about Robert Kocharian, at the very least, the scope of imagination should also have some logic. We are talking about a person whom, let’s all lighten our consciences a bit and acknowledge, surely Aliyev sees in his bad dreams,' said Vardevanyan.
He mentioned that Nikol Pashinyan has maintained operational communication since 2018, is engaged in secret negotiations, and has kept Kocharian in custody since May 8, 2020. 'Artsakh is also excluded from the negotiations,' commented National Assembly President Alen Simonian. He told Vardevanyan that while he might be quite knowledgeable about legal matters, it is unnecessary to delve into the minutiae of negotiations.
'Because there, you will face a crushing defeat, because at least when mentioning two regions, do not forget that these two regions are considered the territory of Artsakh under its constitution, and so on. When discussing status, please check whether there was anything clear there, and ultimately, if everything was so good, why didn't you act?' the NA president noted.
