There Are Soldiers and Officers Who Have Not Fulfilled Their Duty and Have Been Captured: Simonyan on Video

The Armenian army has many heroic boys; they are numerous, and they are our pride. However, unfortunately, there are soldiers and officers who have not fulfilled their duty and have found themselves in captivity, said the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a conversation with journalists today.

It is noteworthy that a video has circulated online showing Alen Simonyan stating during a conversation that "those captives no longer exist for me."

"I see that the term 'hero' is often devalued on Facebook due to the equal application of the scale to everyone," said Simonyan.

In response to a journalist's observation about why he has formed a prejudiced attitude if the pre-investigation has not ended, Alen Simonyan replied, "I have not formed a prejudiced attitude; I say that the law of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Prime Minister, has spoken about this from the podium of the National Assembly, that the criminal code stipulates that in such cases, there should be accountability. Those who have violated the law and preferred to surrender instead of defending the border of the Republic of Armenia will bear that accountability."
