National Assembly Honors Earthquake Victims

The regular session of the National Assembly has begun. Before the session started, Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan announced that today marks the anniversary of the Spitak earthquake. He urged the parliament members to honor the memory of the earthquake victims with a moment of silence.

On December 7, 1988, at precisely 11:41:22 AM local time, a devastating earthquake struck northern Armenia with an epicenter intensity of 10 on the Richter scale.
