Gagik Hakobyan, Known as 'Goj', Vows Not to Join Any Power
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that a complex situation has arisen following the local elections held on Sunday in the consolidated community of Vedi, Ararat Province. As is known, crocodile expert Garik Sargsyan faced defeat against the 'former' powers in Vedi.
According to the results of the voting, the leading party is 'My Powerful Community', headed by Spartak Tartikian, the mayor of Sisavan, which, however, does not have enough votes to seize community power, having secured 44.08% of the voters' support. The second place goes to the ruling Civil Contract party (39.12%), while Aram Sargsyan's 'Republic' party comes in third with 16.78%.
It seems that the situation is not only complicated but also presents a scenario with one unknown variable, where the Civil Contract and the most prominent representatives of the clientele will form a coalition, thereby resolving the issue. However, the problem lies in the fact that Gagik Hakobyan, known as 'Goj', who leads Aram Sargsyan's list, did not independently gather those votes; a significant portion was garnered through the efforts of Manvel Ghazaryan, owner of Vedi Alco, who actively worked for his friend Aram Sargsyan. Additionally, the Ararat regional governor, Razmik Tevonyan, has been secretly advocating for this party, as he cannot tolerate Garik.
Nevertheless, Hakobyan, reportedly a rather ambitious young man, has vowed among his circle that he will join no party. Furthermore, it is said that he has even made a similar vow at the graves of fallen soldiers from the war. If a union does not occur, a new election must be declared according to the law.
