Omicron Variant Detected in 15 US States, Spreading Rapidly

The recently discovered Omicron variant of the coronavirus is already present in 15 states across the United States. This information was reported by ABC, citing Rochelle Walensky, head of the CDC.

“Yes, we have the Omicron variant, which is spreading rapidly. According to data received yesterday evening, it is already present in 15 states. We know of several dozen cases of infection, and we are closely monitoring those infected,” she stated.

Walensky added that new cases are being reported every day, and there may be an increase in the number of infected individuals. It should be noted that approximately 99% of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. are attributed to the Delta variant.
