Health Deteriorates for Deputy Chief of General Staff in NSS

According to information received by ArmLur.am, the condition of Stepan Galstyan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, has worsened in the Yerevan Central Penitentiary or in the well-known basement of the KGB.

Our sources indicate that his lawyer, Onik Arakelyan, has applied to the Penitentiary Medical Center for his transfer to the hospital for surgery, but the center has yet to take any action.

It is noteworthy that on October 2, the court, presided over by Judge Karen Farukhoyan, issued a ruling to detain Stepan Galstyan. He was detained in connection with an ongoing criminal case regarding misappropriations and particularly large-scale thefts in the supply of military ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

He faces charges of abusing his official position resulting in significant consequences and committing official forgery.

It is also worth mentioning that the NSS conducted searches in the apartments of former Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Stepan Galstyan, and former head of military aviation Avetik Muradyan. By court order, Davit Tonoyan and arms supplier Davit Galstyan (also known as Patron Davit) have also been detained for two months.

Additionally, Stepan Galstyan does not accept the charges against him.
