Azerbaijan is Currently Focusing More on the Syunik Direction than Artsakh, Says Tigran Abrahamyan
Azerbaijan is currently placing more emphasis on the Syunik direction than on Artsakh. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Honorary Have" faction, during a press conference.
The parliamentarian noted that under the current circumstances, Azerbaijan and Turkey are trying to increase pressure both on the territories seized from Artsakh and in the direction of Nakhchivan to achieve their desired results.
“I have no doubt that the primary goal of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem is to cut off Armenia through Syunik and establish a direct land connection. The issue here is not so much about the corridor as it is about cutting Armenia off in territorial terms. The corridor is one of the routes that will give them the opportunity to resolve this issue within a decade or two. In any case, Azerbaijan continues to keep military operations on the agenda as a means to resolve any issues, and under the ideologically bankrupt government in Armenia, Azerbaijani plans are becoming increasingly likely,” said Tigran Abrahamyan.
