American Aircraft Conducts Reconnaissance Flight Near Crimea's Shores, Then Heads Towards Armenia and Azerbaijan

The U.S. Air Force's OF 38th RS/55th WG, Boeing RC-135V Rivet Joint aircraft conducted a reconnaissance flight over the Black Sea, approaching the shores of Crimea, reports RIA Novosti based on data from the PlaneRadar website.

According to the available data on the platform, the aircraft took off from the Souda airbase on the island of Crete, then after monitoring the border, proceeded towards Armenia and Azerbaijan before entering Georgian airspace.

Earlier, several media outlets reported that on December 3, a passenger aircraft en route from Tel Aviv to Moscow had to change its flight path over the Black Sea to avoid getting too close to the American reconnaissance aircraft. Rosaviatsiya confirmed this information.

American military aircraft regularly appear over the waters of the Black Sea. The day before, Russian Su-27 and Su-30 aircraft took to the air to escort the American reconnaissance RC-135 and CL-600 "Artemis" aircraft, preventing them from crossing the state border.
