Using 'Carousels' It Is Unlikely That Authorities Will Achieve Success: Masis Community Head Candidate David Hambardzumyan

“If I’m not mistaken, there have been 1-2 incidents for which materials are being prepared at the police station, I am not aware of the stage they are at,” said David Hambardzumyan, a candidate for the community head of Masis, during a conversation with reporters, commenting on the gross violations registered during the campaign.

“I also do not think that social support can impact people's mindset, because citizens have already seen a lot, and through assistance, dirty tactics, and using 'carousels', the authorities are unlikely to succeed... And if they try to organize a 'carousel', the citizen will certainly not choose what they want, and that ballot will be invalidated,” said David Hambardzumyan.

He stated that throughout the campaign, activities reminiscent of the 1990s have been carried out, which he has repeatedly pointed out. “The regional administration was calling people, forcing them to do this and do that, calling pedagogical collectives. Sadly, two school directors were actively involved in the campaign, and everyone knows about it… Calls were made to citizens, to the parental councils, even to students saying, ‘tell your parents to do it this way…’ And when they talk about modern times, supposedly about the freedom of the people and so on, but the regional authorities start acting in the style of the 1990s, they contradict themselves.”

David Hambardzumyan mentioned that he has received information about several village heads. He invited journalists to visit the Khachpar community to see what the village head is doing and how he is directing the citizens.
