Kocharyan Discusses With Allies: 'Hayastan'

The newspaper 'Hayastan' reports that the opposition bloc, led by Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan, held a meeting yesterday. During the meeting, Kocharyan discussed with opposition members the question of whether to boycott the parliamentary sessions starting next week.

In an interview with us, Agnesa Khmoyan, a member of the 'Hayastan' faction, emphasized that the boycott specifically referred to the previous session. 'First of all, I want to highlight that during the faction meeting led by our bloc's leader Robert Kocharyan, which are held regularly, a broad range of issues were discussed, but the question of whether to continue the boycott during the upcoming session was not addressed because there is no such issue. Before the previous session, it was made very clear that we are boycotting precisely that session, as the government is moving with an unclear agenda and has sidelined issues related to the country's security, which require urgent attention,' she added.

According to 'Hayastan' newspaper reports, the opposition bloc intends to continue the boycott in other parliamentary platforms, primarily on the international level. Instead, they wish to convene an extraordinary session. When asked about the agenda, Khmoyan responded: 'The agenda, of course, pertains to a wide range of issues related to our security and defense. At this moment, however, it would be difficult for me to provide information about the day, but it will be clear in the coming days.'
