Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration Discusses Rail and Road Connectivity for Armenia

Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Armen Simonyan stated, "I have no information that Azerbaijan is constructing a railway to Nakhichevan and that trains are currently operating there." He shared this during a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly.

"At this stage, the routes and border crossing procedures are still being discussed. I cannot provide any specific information because there is no clarity on that matter. There must be unblocking; nothing else is being discussed or will be discussed from our side," the deputy minister added.

He noted that the discussion is about transit transport. "We are obtaining rail and road connectivity with the Russian Federation through Azerbaijani territory and connectivity with Iran through Nakhichevan. These are the main directions that may potentially be unblocked in this situation," Simonyan said.
