VIDEO: Who Will Be Treated for Coronavirus at State Expense? Minister Provides Details
The Ministry of Health will announce on January 1 whether the treatment for citizens infected with the coronavirus will be paid or not. This was stated by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan during a briefing with reporters after a government meeting.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Minister of Health, Hripsime Khachatryan, informed Sputnik Armenia that the Ministry of Health is considering whether to make treatment for citizens who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus paid or not. The treatment for coronavirus is estimated to cost around 800,000 drams.
“Discussions are still ongoing, and we are making certain calculations. However, medical assistance will be provided at the state's expense for the socially disadvantaged or other beneficiary groups that are already under the state's care,” Avanesyan stated.
She added that their proposals and policies in this regard will be presented on January 1.
Referring to the increase in the volume of state-funded treatment, the minister noted that they will request additional funding from the government. This, according to Avanesyan, is linked to the increase in treatment volumes due to acute respiratory infections and other infections among children. She added that the figure in question is 500 million drams.
